The Hoverer


She clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, she stands.

Did the picture inspire the poem or the poem the picture. Truth is that I chanced upon Lord Tennyson's work only much later. The only change I made to his piece, is to have replaced the gender. I like it to call it 'the Hoverer' - a depiction of times when one hangs suspended, floating, fluttering, detached from the flow of the rest..
